ShaperJet is a New Delhi based startup which is trying to bring 3D printers in everyone's reach. In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make in India campaign, the company manufactures 3D printers which are completely made in India. As of now 3D printing is at a very nascent stage in India and many people are unaware of its concept. What is 3D printing?

In simple terms, 3D printing is a manufacturing technology that lets users create 3D objects from digital models. 3D printing is also known as additive manufacturing in which you can create 3D objects by adding layers of material on top of each other. 3D printing is a niche segment and it is having huge untapped potential in India. History of ShaperJet?

ShaperJet launched their first product, the ShaperJet desktop 3D printer in April 2015. After the successful launch, ShaperJet reached the following milestones:

• India's first Low Poly design contest in collaboration with Pinshape.
• We partnered with Shapetizer which is a 3D printing marketplace in China.
• In partnership with Fever 104 and HT group, we introduced 3D printing in schools during the Indian Science Fair which was held at Thyagraj Sports Complex.

We started making functional and desktop 3D printers which use PLA as a raw material. PLA (Polylactic acid) is a biodegradable plastic/polyester which is derived from renewable resources such as corn starch, chips or sugarcane. Apart from hardware stuff, we also started training programs for students at school and college levels. 

A little brief about the Founder of ShaperJet?

Raman Sachdev is the Founder-CEO of ShaperJet. He is an engineer, inventor, investor and entrepreneur by choice who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is an expert on Additive Manufacturing and Prototyping technologies.

He believes that we, of all humans, have the capability to make or create everything that surrounds us and if determined, nobody can stop us from making that happen.
